Day 89: It’s A Certain Chemical Reaction…

blogging, creative, fashion, financial, fun, life lessons, lifestyle, love, memories, money, shopping, trends, working, writing

Maybe it’s just me, but has anyone out there ever tried something on in the store, seen something in a catalogue, browsed for something online and immediately knew it had to be yours?

Furthermore, has anyone else ever imagined all the scenarios in which they’d wear or use that item?

Like, buying shoes for example. I know for a fact that I’ve looked at numerous amounts of shoes and said stuff like, “those are totally first date shoes”… Or “I would look good with those on in the gym”.

Shirts and sweaters I can look at confidently and know which outfits I will put them with.

Watches.

Rings.

Hats (even though Lord knows I do not wear hats #HairGameTooStrong).

I even considered buying a set of 2 computer monitors so I could buy shoes on one and watch Netflix on the other without having to switch annoyingly through Tabs on my internet browser. I’m only a little ashamed to admit that.

The possibilities are literally endless and every time I buy something new I get so excited that I swear I have small strokes every single time.

A leather jacket that I’ll wear to a concert.

A pair of heels that I’ll wear a night on the town.

A new pair of compression leggings that I’ll rock at work and be totally satisfied with…

Truth is, only about 40% of the amazing and wonderous scenarios that I invent in my head (and I’m a writer – at least, that’s what people tell me – so there are TONS of scenarios) actually occur.

Maybe only 36% because I am rounding up because 40% doesn’t seem so pathetic… Above 5 round up and under 5 dollars, always buy it… What? Who said that?

The monitor thing never happened and probably never will because I binge watch Netflix much more than I shop online for shoes. I’d rather do that in person to guarantee the correct sizes.

So to fix my “problem” – such a strong word for it… I am practicing a new rule.

I can only buy it IF I remove something of equal or lesser value.

But for some reason that doesn’t seem to apply to shoes.

You won’t hear me complaining.

That’s all for now, folks!

Don’t max out your credit, and if you can’t afford it – there’s personably a very good reason.

Higher power thinks you have cankles in those booties, Hun… You can’t buy them.
